Arken hunts with the tribe and kills a massive toth. With this incredible feat, Arken is made a bull of the tribe and a member of the leadership council. This makes Jen, the son of the tribe’s leader, jealous since Jen has yet to kill a toth. In revenge, Jen challenges Ord, the son of Mar, to a duel to the death, even though Ord is unconscious and unable to fight. Arken offers to fight in Ord’s place. But if Arken dies in the fight, Asher and Talya will be kept as prisoners of the tribe for the rest of their lives.

Recommend omitting the wife in this sentence, so you can name Jen. Then that will set up the next sentence nicely.
